This year is the first ever UK Pride, and the Civil Service will be there. This year, UK Pride will be in Hull. Come along and join us!
We had been wanting to take part in UK Pride this weekend, taking place in Hull. Unfortunately we have been unable to secure enough people to take part in the parade, and on balance have decided to withdraw from the parade, and instead focus on supporting activities the Government Equalities Office are leading on the day.
If you have planned to go to the event, you will still be able to take part in the parade with a donation at the form-up area, and we would encourage you to do so.
We understand this may be disappointing news and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
This year is the first ever UK Pride; and this year it’s in Hull.
The Civil Service has a large presence in the Humberside and Yorkshire area, and so we thought what better way to celebrate the first ever UK Pride than by organising a Civil Service group for the parade.
You can find all the details you need on the Eventbrite page we’ve set up, but here’s a quick overview:
Date and time
The event will take place on 22 July 2017 from 10:00am.
The parade start time is 12:00pm.
The meeting point is at Hull College on Wilberforce Drive from 10:00am.
The route will be through the city centre, and will end at Queen’s Gardens.
You can sign up to take part on Eventbrite.
CSRA has already paid for the Civil Service’s participation, but if you wish to make a donation to Pride in Hull, they will be taking £5 donations at the registration point.
When the parade reaches the Queen’s Gardens site Pride in Hull will want to ensure entry is as smooth and safe and possible.
There will be bag searches and only one sealed bottle of water 500mls per person, will be allowed to be brought in. There will be free water on the parade route and in the gardens as well as other food and drink provision.
