The Civil Service marched at Pride in Edinburgh for the first time this year, Derek Bradford writes.
For the first time ever, CSRA has taken part in Edinburgh Pride. Derek Bradford, CSRA’s Scotland Rep, organised the Civil Service’s participation in the event, leading the CSRA banner through the streets of Edinburgh, and past the Scottish Parliament.
This year’s parade was particularly significant as it marked 20 years since Pride began in Scotland, with the first ever festival taking place in Edinburgh back in 1995.
Before being relaunched as Pride Edinburgh in 2015 it was previously known as Pride Scotia for 10 years. Now, Pride events will happen in both Edinburgh and Glasgow each year – and CSRA will be marching at Pride in Glasgow later this year too.
The day was a huge success as everyone had such a fantastic time promoting the work CSRA does for the LGBT Community.
We are looking to get more LGB* civil servants involved with CSRA in Scotland. If you’re in Scotland, make sure you register as a member so we can keep in touch. We’d also love you to join us at Pride Glasgow on 22/23 August. More details will follow soon but if you wish to join us or can help out in any way then remember to sign up to be part of our marching group.
